once in a blue moon...

returning from skiing across our fields i looked outside the window and saw the blue moon... the blue moon that is gracing us on this new years eve and carrying us through to a new year. i have a feeling 2010 will bring many adventures and surprises along with (hopefully) many moments with the one's we love.

embrace the blue moon... and everything it has to offer this evening...

silence the thing holding you back...

to complete the v.v. gogh: i find this vital in anything and everything we do... this quote reminds me of a very hard time in the very beginning of my design career where i allowed myself to believe the worst of what someone said about myself and my work.  this was an outside voice telling me i could not design... but it is scary how quickly the outside voice became my own.  i took control of my future and silenced these words by picking up a piece of fabric and sewing a skirt to wear the next day...

join the journey of m.c.c.

my name is miriam cecilia carlson and i am the designer for my clothing line: m.c.c.  i am inspired by the spontaneous moments found in nature and the everyday emotions that we feel when were encompassed by them.  i am blessed to be able to escape into the country to my family farm and cross country ski through the pine woodsas well as walk along a city sidewalk and find one little flower growing through a crack toward the sky.  i will share with you my inspiration, my design process, and the journey of my clothing line m.c.c.
