first flake

leaving the bustling downtown
escaping down the steps from the train
the white flakes soar across the sky
no specific destination
flashes of winter memories appear
and you excite with the coming of a new season

shadows of white

brilliant reflections...
casting light...on wisps of white...exposing hidden moments.

webbed

dew settled morning... the spiders work is done for the night...
sheathes of grass, blown feathers, droplettes...
trapped for the day.
just like queen anne's lace...
spreading out to the world
stem one by one, each to its end,
until the whole field is a
white desire, empty, a single stem,
a cluster, flower by flower,
a pious wish to whiteness gone over--
or nothing.

falling in love at 1223

the door opens
she ascends the steps
her eyes open wide
which fixate on a dress in the corner
just one dress
she falls in love
better yet she feels lovable...
'my husband will go crazy when he sees me in this gown..."

'he is not my boyfriend... but after he sees me in this... maybe!"

"i just cannot stop smiling. i have dreamt about a dress... & this is it"

streaking the sky

streaking the sky...the front tumbles over each cloud...
leaving ripples in its path...

night fall

dusk settles...leaving streaks across the sky...
and darkness sets in encompassing the story book moon.

a field of white speckles

a field of little bursts of white...waiting for the day they become what they are meant to be...

a golden sky

the day is closer to being over...but a brief moment of warmth
spreads across the prairie
and lands on our shoulders
reminding ourselves... 'nothing golden can last'

purple populating

weeks have past and purple has flourished..
beginning with the delicate violets.
the ground warms..
and the irises pop from the grass.
and just as summer begins to set in..
a breeze of the sweet smell of lilacs brushes your face..
and the world seems to stop for a moment.

not so 'spontaneous' moment in nature

repetition throughout the rowsprigs of foliage reaching to the sun
protected and watered

night sounds

the rain ceases and the clouds fade away.
the bat glides from corner to corner of the sky.
the moth wrestles in the dew dropped blades of grass.
the toad sings a song as the night sets in.

separating green and tan

a break in the green and tan land..a shade unfamiliar to this green edge..
where the bursts of lavender sprinkle the grass..

a simpler view

to see the summer sky
is poetry, though never in a Book it lie -
true Poems flee.

summer storm

the sun blazed and droplets fell..
the clouds closed in and the sirens blared..seconds passed and the wind pushed all souls into the cellars..
a turbulent wind blew like that of a tornado..
a moment later the wind ceased ..
only sign of its presence was a path of destruction left..

fiddleheads

rising from the ground,
uncoiling in the woods,
to be fledging ferns.
